If there was every a candidate for, “What is ____?” at the 2014 IPCPR convention and trade show, it’s Kuuts, LLC. The company is not new to the U.S., it debuted stateside in April 2013, but at this year’s trade show Kuuts made its presence known with a high-quality enclosed booth almost centrally located between the Altadis U.S.A. and General Cigar Co. booths, about the greatest placement you could ask for.

The brand is from Honduras, where its Compañia Hondureña de Tabacos factory is located, but the eponymous line uses an Ecuadorian wrapper and filler from Nicaragua. It’s offered in five sizes between $5-7 and will begin shipping in September. More details can be found here.

Shortly before the trade show, the company announced this release would be delayed. Gabriel Alvarez, operations manager for Kuuts, told halfwheel the company hopes to ship the cigar in November.

Finally, the company plans to begin retailers down to Honduras to view its operations—it was raffling off a trip to Honduras during the show. In addition, Kuuts continues to expand its growing operations, which it started in the last year.
