For Cubanacan, there was one name being talked about at the 2014 IPCPR convention and trade show, Hirochi Robaina. The grandson of the legendary Cuban farmer is now partnered with the company for a new line of cigars, HR. In some ways, the new launch and fanfare surrounding it masked some other significant changes going on at the company formerly known as Mederos.

Cubanacan Packaging Update
The Cubanacan line is receiving updated boxes across its lines.

HR
Robaina did his first event this past weekend at Marcus Daniel Tobacconist, although it’s not part of the formal tour that will accompany the HR cigar line. Those will start in November, with Robaina visiting accounts who placed large orders of the HR cigar. Details are still forthcoming regarding finalized price of HR. Size and other details can be found here.

Mederos
Cubanacan also took the time to reintroduce the Mederos brand to accounts. While it has remained on the market for the last few years, the Cubanacan rebrand that took place last year largely overshadowed the company’s namesake line.
