While Palió didn’t have anything brand new at the booth, they are still quite a ways away from where they started as a cutter company. As of the beginning of this year, everything from Brother of the Leaf, LLC—which includes Palió accessories and the Esencia and E cigar lines—is now being distributed by Toraño Family Cigars. Because of this, they had their booth setup right across the aisle from the Toraño booth.

The Booth
Arriving first thing in the morning, the booth wasn’t too busy, though the reports were they were having a good show. Spread out across a few single-deep booth spaces, they featured their two cigar lines – Esencia and E – and of course all of their accessories.

While the lighters are a recent addition to Palió’s accessory lineup, they didn’t have anything technically new at the show. However, Marc Aub told us about two different projects. The first was the second redesigned camo pattern. The company was forced to change their camo patterns a while back and is still finalizing the second camo option, although Aub seemed to think this would be done soon. Also, the metal cutter is still in the works, but there’s no real timetable on that.

I have been smoking cigars since 2005 and reviewing them as a hobby since 2010. Initially, I started out small with a 50-count humidor and only smoking one or two cigars a month. Not knowing anybody else that smoked cigars, it was only an occasional hobby that I took part in. In March of 2010, I joined Nublive and Cigar Asylum, connecting me with many people who also shared an interest in cigars. Reading what they had to say about brands I had never heard of, I quickly immersed myself in the boutique brands of the industry and it was then that cigars transformed from a hobby into a passion.
