If you want an Illusione culebra, you better hurry.

Dion Giolito of Illusione informed halfwheel that the Illusione ~23~ culebra has been discontinued. Furthermore, the company will not ship anymore culebras to retailers with current backorders being cancelled.

For those that want a cigar with similar dimensions, a replacement is coming. Giolito said that the company is developing a cigar “roughly 6 1/2 x 32” that will be made using criollo from a specific farm in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Illusione ~23~ measures 6 1/2 x 33, while a traditional ninfa measures 7 x 33.

While on paper the two cigars might sound the same size, they won’t look anything alike. Culebras see three cigars and twisted together to form a single cigar. While some manufacturers have used three different blends in a single culebra, the ~23~ used the same Nicaraguan puro blend throughout the three parts.

Giolito said the replacement “Ninfa size cigar” should be introduced at the 2015 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show this July in New Orleans, La.
