A bill has been introduced that would ban the sale of flavored tobacco products and flavored vaping products in the state of Illinois.

Rep. Deb Conroy, D-46, has introduced H.B. 3883, the Flavored Tobacco Ban Act. As the name implies, the bill would ban the sale of any flavored tobacco products, as well as vaping products. Flavored products are defined by any tobacco product that has a “characterizing flavor” other than tobacco or menthol.

Retailers or distributors caught in violation of the law could lose their license to sell tobacco products in the state if they are caught in violation of the law. Lesser penalties include mandatory training programs.

The bill has two other co-sponsors.
