Portraits: Matt Booth

I was a bit surprised when I met Matt Booth in person for the first time. Considering his image, I expected a stuck up ego maniac. What I met instead was a down to earth, easy to talk to, and passionate individual who knows cigars forwards and backwards.

We were at a private get together, and Booth graciously allowed me about five minutes to photograph him. I decided to go simple, and let the background, i.e. the Vegas strip, do the hard part.

I wanted to show a slightly different side of Booth then what you see in the advertisements, a solitary figure enjoying a cigar.

For those of you who care about that kind of thing, this photo was take using all natural light, ISO 800 at f1.4, 24mm and 100/th sec, Canon Mark III body.
