The next chapter in HVC’s Hot Cake series is debuting this week.

The HVC Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Broadleaf—yes, that’s the name—is a new two-vitola maduro version of the company’s Hot Cake line. As the name implies, Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Broadleaf uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper. That’s placed overtop tobaccos from the Estelí and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua.

It will be offered in two sizes:

  • HVC Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Broadleaf Toro (5 1/2 x 54) — $17 (Box of 25, $425)
  • HVC Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Broadleaf Torpedo (5 1/2 x 52) — $15 (Box of 25, $375)

A launch party for the Hot Cake Fresh Out of the Oven Broadleaf is scheduled for Thursday, June 25, at Two Guys Smoke Shop in Salem, N.H., though the retailer has already begun selling the cigars online. HVC says it will begin shipping the cigar to other retailers beginning next week. While it’s a regular production cigar, the first shipment is limited to just 500 boxes per size.

In 2016, HVC Cigars released Pan Caliente, a limited edition cigar that was named after hotcakes. In 2020, the company released Hot Cake, a regular production cigar based on the limited edition. Last year, the company created Hot Cake Golden Line, a lighter version of Hot Cake with an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper.
