Smoking in parks will soon be a thing of the past in Huntingburg, Ind., as on Tuesday the city’s common council voted unanimously in favor of an ordinance that bans lighting up.
While the city has yet to post the ordinance or announce the results of the vote, News Now Dubois County reports that the ban is scheduled to go into effect in 2017 once two new parks currently in development officially open. That will bring the total number of parks in the city to five.
Huntingburg is located in the southwestern part of the state and is located 77 miles west of Louisville, Ky. It has a population of approximately 6,100 residents.
