Smoking will once again be allowed in casinos in Hancock County, W.Va.
The move is largely aimed at the Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in New Cumberland, which says it has lost revenue due to the smoking ban. When the law passed in 2014, the company warned it could lose up to 20 percent of its revenue. The casino is the county’s largest employer.
Hancock County is the northernmost county of the state, bordering both Ohio and Pennsylvania. It has a population of around 30,000.
