Smoking will once again be allowed in casinos in Hancock County, W.Va.
The Hancock County Board of Health made unanimously passed an amendment to the county’s Clean Air Regulation of 2014 Act to allow smoking at casinos and the video sections of lottery cafes.
The move is largely aimed at the Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in New Cumberland, which says it has lost revenue due to the smoking ban. When the law passed in 2014, the company warned it could lose up to 20 percent of its revenue. The casino is the county’s largest employer.
