GTO Cigars is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special release, though there’s no mention of the accomplishment in the name.
Instead, the name focuses on the Cibao Valley, which is where the wrappers for the cigars come from. The new cigar is called Corona del Cibao, offered in both Corojo and Maduro wrapper versions. The blend is entirely Dominican, with Dr. Oscar Rodriguez—GTO’s founder—explaining that his goal was to recreate an old blend originally created by his grandfather in the 1940s. He says that all tobaccos are 10-years-old.
The Corona del Cibao is offered only in a 6 x 54 toro.
Pricing is set at $9.99 per cigar and it is limited to 2,000 boxes of 24 cigars for each of the two wrapper options.
Distribution is expected to begin in two weeks.
