Earlier this week, the Gloucester City Police Department announced that it would begin enforcing the city’s new anti-tobacco laws that includes the banning of tobacco use in parks and on sidewalks in the Monmouth Street Business District.

The Gloucester City Council passed the law earlier this year. Fines range from $100-$1,000 and the ordinance covers all forms of tobacco, including smokeless tobacco.

Gloucester City is a located in the southwestern part of the state in Camden County. The Delaware River separates Gloucester City from its northwest neighbor, Philadelphia. It has a population just under 12,000.
