Global Premium Cigars may be best known for 1502 Cigars, but the company is expanding with a new line that will stand on its own and not under the 1502 banner.

Enrique Sánchez has announced his latest project, Cachitos, a new single vitola release that will be unveiled at the upcoming IPCPR Convention & Trade Show. It’s a 4 1/2 x 50 petit robusto that uses a Nicaraguan wrapper, Honduran binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras. The Plasencia Cigars S.A. factory is making the cigar, which will come in 20-count bundles, with single cigars priced at $5.50 per stick.

The 86th annual IPCPR Convention & Trade Show runs from July 13 – 17 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Update: Shortly after this story was published, Sánchez informed halfwheel that the shipment is en route from the factory and should be ready to ship to retailers “in a couple of days at the latest,” he said.

Davidoff is the official sponsor of halfwheel's coverage of the 2018 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
