Chris Tarr will be the new vp of marketing for General Cigar Co.

Tarr most recently served as region manager for the west region for General; he has been with the company since 2008.

“Together with his expertise in sales management and his firsthand knowledge of cigar retailer and consumer preferences, Chris has the skills to support me and the executive team in driving the business forward,” said Régis Broersma, president of General Cigar Co., in a press release. “Chris is also not shy about pushing for his ideas and I am confident that he will be a strong leader for our marketing organization.”

Tarr replaces José de Castro who was named to the position last July and is no longer with the company.

In addition, the company has made a variety of changes to its sales force structure. Mike Radecki, previously the company’s central region manager, has been promoted to director of field sales. He will report to Gene Richter, the company’s vp of sales.

Reporting to Radecki are four region managers: Sean Hardiman (southeast), John Ferrigan (central), Kevin Spann (west) and Cameron Shaw (east and duty-free).
