Fuente Updates Don Carlos Bands

It’s not entirely new, but it is a pretty big change.

Arturo Fuente has updated the bands on its Don Carlos cigars. The bands are similar to the previous Don Carlos bands, but feature a black background behind the main logo instead of red that normally sits behind it and other central elements of the band.

The new band debuted last year on two limited Don Carlos releases: Eye of the Shark and Private Reserve.

The company last updated the regular release Don Carlos band in 2011, adding the lower elements to the band.

The blend is named after Carlos Fuente Sr., the company’s longtime patriarch who passed away in August. It was his personal blend, using a Cameroon wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican fillers.

Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. told halfwheel the band change was done in honor of his late father.

Don Carlos previously shared bands with the company’s Chateau, Gran Reserva and Hemingway lines.
