Last week, Arturo Fuente broke ground on a new distribution center located across the street from its current headquarters in Tampa.

Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr. told halfwheel the company expects the warehouse at the end of the year. The new distribution center will be a bonded warehouse, meaning the company won’t owe customs duties on some of the product until it leaves the warehouse.

Fuente said the warehouse will store products made by the company for its own brands as well as Ashton and J.C. Newman.

The building is being made to match the company’s headquarters, which is based in historic Ybor City. Fuente said because of this, the brick will be hand laid and numerous other architectural concerns had to be addressed.
