Speakeasy, the third release in Fratello’s Concealed Carry series, will head to stores later this week.

The cigar shares many of the same details as the two other releases, 18th Amendment, which came out in April, and Detroit River, which came out in July. Fratello has said that each release in the Concealed Carry line will be a 5 1/4 x 54 robusto extra with an undisclosed blend. Like the first two releases, Speakeasy comes with an MSRP of $10 per cigar. The company has not yet confirmed packaging details, but the previous two releases came in 12-count jars, with 1,000 produced for each release.

The Concealed Carry Cigars series will use “limited one-time production blends that have been curated and selected from undisclosed factories in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua,” according to a press release.

The company says there will be six different cigars, each with their own branding, with only 75 stores carrying the line.

“This small batch pays tribute to the hidden bars of the prohibition era, where like-minded people gathered in secret to enjoy cigars and spirits,” said Omar de Frias, ceo and founder of Fratello Cigars, in a press release. “The Speakeasy release is meant to capture that spirit of defiance and camaraderie.”

The cigars are scheduled to begin shipping on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Update (Oct. 5, 2024) — A representative of the company confirmed that there are 1,000 12-count cans being produced for this release.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
