A few weeks after smoking in state parks was banned in Oregon, a city outside of Portland is close to banning smoking in city parks. The Forest Grove Parks and Recreation Committee will draft legislation and hold public hearings in March before the ban goes to a vote in May.
According to Oregon Live, 56 cities and counties in Oregon ban smoking in public parks.
Forest Grove is located 25 miles west of Portland and has a population just over 20,000.
