The dates for the 22nd Habanos Festival, or Festival del Habano as it is also known, have been announced: Feb. 24-28, 2020.

The festival celebrates all things Habanos S.A., with visits to Cuban cigar factories, tobacco farms, educational seminars, a trade show, cigar rolling class, the International Habanos World Challenge contest, and several lavish dinners capped off by the final night’s activities which includes an auction of elaborate humidors.

What has not yet been announced is what cigars will be featured during the event. In past years, a brand has been chosen to be the primary focus due to an anniversary or other milestone, while in other years things like the La Casa del Habano franchise have been celebrated with special releases.

Unlike last year, the event will not be held the same week as the Dominican Republic’s cigar festival, Procigar, which takes place Feb. 16-21, 2020.

Registration for the event is expected to open in October via the Habanos S.A. website.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
