Federal Lands Quesada Reserva Privada Lonsdales

In addition to the Quesada Reserva Privada Churchill, Federal Cigar received a pair of exclusive Reserva Privada releases in the form of a lonsdale vitola.

The Quesada Reserva Privada Lonsdale—and the Reserva Privada Oscuro Lonsdale—measure 6 3/4 x 44. Federal received 20 20-count bundles in each blend with both cigars priced at $10.60.

Both cigars use a special Dominican criollo binder from the 1997 crop, one that was planted while Manuel Quesada Sr. was still alive. The tobacco was aging until 2015 when Manuel “Manolo” Quesada Jr. decided it was time to use it for the Reserva Privada blend. That blend uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper and Dominican and Pennsylvania ligero fillers.

Last year the company released the Reserva Privada Oscuro as a follow-up, which uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper instead of the Ecuadorian Connecticut cover leaf.

Terence Reilly, general manger of Quesada Cigars, told halfwheel the company has no plans of releasing the Lonsdale elsewhere.
