Fausto V551 Heads to Italy

Late last year, Pete Johnson of Tatuaje showed off a new Fausto that he indicated would be associated with Italy. Now that cigar is off to the country.

The cigar is the Fausto V551, a 4 3/4 x 50 parejo, that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It sports a secondary band that is most associated with the Tatuaje Mexican Project, which makes sense as the wrapper has been changed from the Ecuadorian habano maduro that is normally used on Fausto cigars to the aforementioned Mexican leaf.

Johnson told halfwheel that the filler blend is the same as the regular Fausto blend, which in turn is based on the Tatuaje T110.

It will be an ongoing production item, though the first run is limited to 200 boxes of 10 cigars. Pricing is expected to be around €9-10 per cigar.

Tatuaje is distributed in Italy by Lubinski S.R.L.
