Espinosa Premium Cigars and the online community Cigar Dojo have once again teamed up on a cigar line, announcing the upcoming release of Feng Shui today.

The new line is being offered in a 5 x 54 Prensado vitola, with the cigar molds used to press the cigar custom designed by members of the Cigar Dojo team, according to a press release. The result is the most box-pressed vitola from a Cigar Dojo project to date.

The blend features a habano rosado wrapper, double binder using a Jalapa-grown Nicaraguan leaf as well as one from Indonesia, with a filler of Nicaraguan tobacco from Estelí and Jalapa. The cigars are being made at Espinosa’s La Zona Cigar Factory in Estelí.

“With the Feng Shui, it’s all about the gorgeous habano rosado wrapper, said Eric Guttormson, owner of Cigar Dojo, via a press release. “Just looking at it will put you in your happy place. The Feng Shui can best be described as having a juicy burst of flavor that will appeal to any type of cigar smoker,” he added.

Feng Shui is a limited edition line, with just 360 bundles of 10 cigars being produced, for a total run of 3,600 cigars. They will be released at the 2018 Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival in Broomfield, Colo., which happens on Aug. 25, and will be sold exclusively through festival-related events and online at Payless Cigars & Pipes. Feng Shui is priced at $10 per cigar or $99.99 for a bundle, however, during the launch week of Aug. 23-27, they will be offered for $79.99 per bundle.

The line gets its name from the Chinese art form that dates back some 6,000 years and is an attempt to orient architecture, structures and other spaces in such a way as to be aligned with the invisible forces of the universe, which are known as qi.

“After attending the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival for the past couple years, we wanted to come out with a cigar along with the Dojo that would be something special to commemorate the event,” said Erik Espinosa. “Creating the blend and combining it with the perfect shape and size took some time, but we really think the final product was worth the effort.”

Espinosa and Cigar Dojo have previously teamed up to create Sensei’s Sensational Sarsaparilla in 2014 and Sensei’s Sensational Sarsaparilla II in 2016. Cigar Dojo has also released projects with Quesada, Drew Estate, AGANORSA Leaf, Cubariqueño Cigar Co., Camacho, RoMa Craft Tobac, MoyaRuiz Cigars, La Jugada and Viaje.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
