Epic Cigars will be adding a new vitola to its Maduro Reserva line.

The 7 1/4 x 40 lancero features the same Brazilian Ariparaca wrapper covering a cameroon binder along with Dominican piloto cubano, seco and ligero as well as Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. The new release will be rolled at the Charles Fairmorn Factory in the Dominican Republic, and  joins three other vitolas in the Maduro Reserva line: Robusto (5 x 52), Double Corona (6 x 54) and Gordo (6 x 60).

According to Epic Cigars owner Dean Parsons, the Epic Maduro Reserva Lancero is a limited release, with only 5,000 total cigars produced for 2015, which will be packaged in both boxes of 25 as well as bundles. The cigars will carry a suggested retail price of $8.50 and they scheduled to ship to retailers in “early June.”

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
