Elvis Batista Departs Blackbird, Launches Consulting Company
Elvis Batista has left his role as the vp of sales and marketing for Blackbird Cigar Co. to start Underdog Tobacco Trading Co., a consulting company. Batista joined Blackbird in early 2021.
“I’m very grateful to have worked with the Blackbird Cigar team in helping build its current sales and marketing structure and to have had to opportunity to share that journey with their amazing team,” said Batista in a press release. “I’m confident they will reach every goal they have set as a company and that they will continue to be a trailblazer in their own right in the cigar industry.”
He has launched Underdog Tobacco Trading Co., which helps cigar companies with things from branding to import/export. In an email, Batista said he has not considered launching his own cigar brand.
