El Artista S.R.L. began making cigars 60 years ago, and as is the case in the cigar business, that anniversary calls for a new cigar.

That cigar, Pulita 60 Aniversario, pays tribute not only to the company’s anniversary, but also the man who started the company, Ramón “Pulita” Rodriguez.

“My grandfather loved the tobacco business, but he had a passion for cigars,” said Radomes Rodriquez, president of El Artista. Pulita 60 Aniversario

As for the cigar, it uses a negrito wrapper, criollo 98 binder and fillers from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. Pulita 60 Aniversario will be offered in two sizes: Robusto (5 x 50) and Toro (6 x 54).

The company says it will begin shipping the cigars on Aug. 1 after they debut at next week’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas.
