There are two new limited edition El Artista humidors heading to stores next month as part of the company’s new art initiative.

The company is launching Artista Studio Works, a new project that will see the factory partner with Dominican artists. René Peña, a Dominican painter, will be the first artist part of Artista Studio Works. Peña created two large oil paintings, one for the company’s Buffalo Ten line and another for the company’s David Ortiz-branded cigar. That artwork will be used on a variety of items including a three-panel wall art for retailers and humidors that will be sold to consumers.

On Dec. 1, the 50-count humidors will go on sale. Each features the artwork created by Peña. Pricing for the Buffalo TEN model is $150 while the David Ortiz version is priced at $190. Both humidors are signed by Peña and limited to 200 pieces.

“We make tobacco and cigars, and that is our art,” said Radhames “Ram” Rodriguez, president of El Artista, in a press release. “But there is so much artistic expression around us here on the island and I wanted to make an opportunity to share that with anyone who is curious about the Dominican Republic; we are so much more than just tobacco.”
