Hello Faithful Readers!

We are happy to announce that this week is E.P Carrillo Week, where we will be previewing and reviewing (almost) every new release that E.P Carrillo is putting out this year…We will also be having two contests that will span the entire week…

First, all the reviews this week are E.P. Carrillos. We are reviewing the vast majority of the new cigars that EPC is putting out… Here is the schedule (always subject to change, of course:

  • Tuesday —E.P Carrillo Short Run 2011 Review
  • Wednesday — E.P Carrillo Core Line Maduro Prerelease Review
  • Thursday — E.P Carrillo Elencos Review
  • Friday — E.P Carrillo Inaugural 2009 Redux Review AND announcement of Contest Winners!

Now to the contests. Instead of having a contest every day, we have decided to run two concurrent contests that will take place all week long.

For the prizes, we have 1 Box of E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut Divinos, signed by everyone in the E.P Carrillo family AND we will also be giving away a three pack of all of the cigars we are reviewing this week (1 Short Run 2011, 1 Core Line Maduro and 1 Elencos).

The Contests will have the exact same rules as our normal contests (i.e. Leave a comment after each post, we will assign each comment a number based on when it is posted, and we will pick a number (name)  at random, using www.Random.org…The difference is that instead of having a contest every day (like we normally do) we are going to run the contest concurrently over the week…So basically, you can leave a comment after every review (leave as many as you want, but only one will count each day!), and each separate comment will count towards an entry :)

Then, on Friday, we will pick names (numbers) and announce who will win the box of cigars and three pack…(let me know if that is confusing!) The contest WILL start today, so any comment left today will count :)

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
