EPC Cigar Co. and Bespoke Post have once again teamed up for a cigar-themed box, and once again it will contain a previously unreleased cigar.

The Churchill box, which went on sale over the weekend, includes four E.P. Carrillo cigars, three of which are regular production releases: La Alianza Connoisseur No. 6 Rosado (6 x 52), Seleccion Oscuro Especial No. 6 (6 x 52) and the New Wave Reserva Toro (6 x 52).

But the gem for fans of the brand is the fourth cigar, a Nicaraguan puro referred to as the Family Blend 50 and coming in a 6 1/8 x 50 vitola. Bespoke Post describes it as “Straight from E. P. Carrillo’s personal humidor, this unreleased all-Nicaraguan blend offers a pure, balanced smoke. The deep, warm notes of spice and wood give way to a rich nuttiness on the finish.”

Lissette Perez-Carrillo addd that the comes from her father’s personal collection, noting that i is a release “designated only for Bespoke project productions. It is not available anywhere else.”

Also included in the box are four cedar spills from Commonwealth Cedar Spills, an ashtray/candleholder made from the reclaimed wood of European buildings, a Bespoke Post Den Candle and a cigar cutter.

This is the third year that the two companies have teamed up for such a release, with 2013’s box containing an original variant and unreleased variant of the Edición Limitada 2013, the inaugural Edición Limitada 2009 and an unreleased blend called the Family Blend #809. In 2014, another four-pack was created, this time with a 5 x 50 E.P. Carrillo New Wave Connecticut Brilliantes, and a 6 1/8 x 50 Perez-Carrillo La Historia Doña Elena, along with a prototype for the E.P. Carrillo 5 Year Anniversary and a cigar called the Unreleased Family Blend #0409.

The Churchill box can be purchased directly from Bespoke Post for $55, or $45 with a subscription to the company’s service. Shipment is slated to begin this week.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
