E.P. Carrillo is asking consumers to help select an upcoming limited edition cigar, as the company has announced the Platinum Bash Pack and a program that will allow customers to vote for their favorite among three potential blends.

Beginning in September, the company will release the Platinum Bash Pack, a trio of cigars that will be available at E.P. Carrillo events held at cigar shops. Inside each pack are three 6 x 52 toros, which are being considered for a release in 2023. The company is not disclosing any details about the blends, and the cigars are most easily distinguishable by the color of a ribbon around the foot.

For those not able to attend an in-store event, the company will send a pack, free of charge, to customers who purchase a box of E.P. Carrillo cigars and send proof of purchase to the company.

Once the cigars have been smoked and a vote is ready to be cast, all a customer has to do to vote is scan a QR code inside the box and they will be directed to a webpage to do so. By voting, they will also be registered to win one of 10 additional prizes that the company will announce in the future.

The company has produced 2,000 of the packs, with the program scheduled to run through November.

The Platinum Bash Pack is named for Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s 70th birthday, referred to as a platinum celebration, which occurred on Nov. 17, 2021. The release of the packs was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and related supply chain issues.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
