E.P. Carrillo’s Pledge line is getting a new limited edition lonsdale this September, and it will make its debut at the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show.

Lissette Perez-Carrillo told halfwheel that the cigar is box-pressed and measures 6 1/2 inches long and has a 43 ring gauge, the same size that the company introduced to its La Historia line in October 2021. It will retail for $12 per cigar and be offered in 20-count boxes, with just 1,500 boxes being produced by the company’s Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. factory in the Dominican Republic.

The blend for the new size remains the same, using a Connecticut habano wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers. This becomes the fourth vitola release in the Perez-Carrillo Pledge line, two of which are regular production, while the most recent release, Apogee, was also a limited edition:

    • Perez-Carrillo Pledge Prequel (5 x 50) — September 2020 — Regular Production
    • Perez-Carrillo Pledge Sojourn (6 x 52) — September 2020 — Regular Production
    • Perez-Carrillo Pledge Apogee (6 1/4 x 58) — October 2021 — 3,000 Boxes of 10 Cigars (30,000 Total Cigars)
    • Perez-Carrillo Pledge Lonsdale Limitada (6 1/2 x 43) — September 2022 — 1,500 Boxes of 20 Cigars (30,000 Total Cigars)

The new size is expected to begin shipping in September.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
