E.P. Carrillo Adding INCH Ringmaster

E.P. Carrillo is giving its INCH line a new version that will be the first to use an all Nicaraguan blend.

Dubbed the INCH Ringmaster, the new cigar comes in two yet-to-be-named sizes that live up the line’s name: a 5 3/8 x 64 robusto gordo and a 6 1/2 x 64 gordo. Ring gauges are determined in 64ths of an inch, so a cigar with a 64 ring gauge measures one inch in diameter.

Both will be offered in 24-count boxes and are being added as regular production cigars. Pricing is also yet to be determined, according to a report by Cigar Aficionado that has not yet been confirmed by the company, as emails sent requesting information about the line have gone unanswered.

The cigars are made at the company’s Tabacalera La Alianza factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The E.P. Carrillo INCH line, which debuted in 2012, currently includes three lines, the INCH Natural, INCH Colorado, and INCH Maduro, which all come in the same five sizes: 5 X 62, 5 7/8 X 60, 6 1/8 X 64, 7 X 70 and 8 X 58.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. I previously covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
