Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust has begun informing retailers of a price increase that the company is putting into effect immediately.

In a letter to retailers, Steve Saka said that the increases were computed on a SKU to SKU basis, and that most cigars increased by 3 to 5 percent, while across his portfolio, it’s a 3.69 percent increase. The recently released StillWell Star line and the soon to be released Sin Compromiso Selección Paladin de Saka are not having their prices change, while the Sobremesa Brûlée Blue is seeing the biggest increase, going up by 6.7 percent.

He did not specify the reasons for the increase, saying that other manufacturers have probably explained it enough already. “Everything is costing more,” he simply said.

Additionally, Saka confirmed that the Todos Las Dias line is on an indefinite hiatus due to a tobacco related issue. While it remains in the portfolio, Saka indicated that he does expect to have any stock available until late 2022 at the earliest, but reiterated the line is not being closed out.

The following chart is a live look at what companies have announced price increases or no price increase for 2022.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
