A pair of seasonal Liga Privada release from Drew Estate are returning to select stores in the next few days.

Casa de Montecristo of Countryside, Ill. will release the 2022 version of the Único Serie UF-4 on Oct. 27. The UF-4 has been an annual release for the store since 2010. It measures 6 x 52 and uses a Connecticut habano wrapper, Brazilian binder and Nicaraguan and Honduran filler tobaccos. The blend is actually a spin off of the Liga Privada T52 and was released under previous like MF-4 and JD-4 prior to its release.

“UF-4 was concocted to be the ‘Ultra-Fuerte’ expression of Liga Privada that became a house favorite at La Gran Fábrica in Nicaragua,” said Jonathan Drew, co-founder and president of Drew Estate, in a press release. “During one of my Chicago trips in 2010, Sam and Mike went bananas for the stick and compelled me to make it exclusively for them to be released at Halloween. UF-4 is a high-octane powerhouse that all the ghosts and gangstas haunting Casa de Montecristo Chicago need every Fall. So, dust off your costumes, grab a ticket to the Halloween bash and do ‘ye ole snag-a-box.’ You know the routine.”

This year’s release comes in updated packaging that features a cedar sleeve and a foot band that designates it as the 2022 release. The cigar will be released during Casa de Montecristo’s annual Halloween Costume Party, which takes place Oct. 27 from 6-10 p.m.

Also returning to shelves this week is the Liga Privada Pancetta, a 4 3/4 x 50 short belicoso that is exclusive to Barrister Cigars in Union, N.J. and Wooden Indian Tobacco Shop in Havertown, Pa. That cigar uses the same Connecticut stalk-cut habano wrapper found on Liga Privada T52 over a Brazilian mata fina binder and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. It has been released annually to the two stores since the cigar debuted in 2019.

“This is the fourth year we have offered the rare and exclusive Pancetta in our store,” said David Mayer, owner of Wooden Indian Tobacco Shop, in a press release. “Every year, they seem to sell out faster as more of our customers discover these smoky gems. We are truly grateful for all the support and love we receive from Drew Estate and its cigar smokers.”

The Liga Privada Único Serie Pancetta has an MSRP of $12.46 per cigar and is sold in boxes of 24. Both Barrister and Wooden Indian began presages for the cigars yesterday and expect the cigars to be available this Friday.

“Liga Privada has been among Barristers’ best-selling cigars for more than a decade,” said David Mallow, owner of Barrister Cigars, in a press release. “Barrister has become renowned by Liga fans for our deep Liga Privada selection and the availability of hard-to-find and limited-edition classics. The annual Pancetta release cements that reputation.”
