Earlier this month, Philip Zanghi of Debonaire was curiously at the Drew Estate sales meeting.

It’s not because he’s joining the company, but because Drew Estate will be distributing his Debonaire and Indian Motorcycle Cigars later this year.

Drew Estate co-founder Jonathan Drew confirmed the move. Both Drew and Zanghi declined to comment to halfwheel.

Sources told halfwheel Drew Estate will begin distributing Debonaire and Indian Motorcycle Cigars in the second quarter of 2016. While Zanghi was at the sales meeting, his cigars were not in a recent Drew Estate price list obtained by halfwheel. News of the move was first reported by Cigar Aficionado.

Beyond the friendship of Zanghi and Drew, there is a bit of an interesting connection between Drew Estate and Debonaire in the form of the Reyes family.

Debonaire and Indian Motorcycle are both produced at De Los Reyes in the Dominican Republic. The factory is owned by Augusto Reyes, who is also the president of Swisher Dominicana, the Dominican-based operation that produces cigars for Swisher International. Drew Estate is owned by Swisher International.

Both Debonaire and Indian Motorcycle Cigars are currently distributed by Zanghi’s Debonaire House.
