A new store exclusive from Drew Estate is on its way to the Chicago area, as today the company announced that the Liga Privada Único Pork Beli, an exclusive to Hyde Park Cigars, has begun shipping.

The cigar measures 4 3/4 x 50, using a blend of a wrapper from the Connecticut River Valley over a Brazilian mata fina binder and Nicaraguan filler. In a press release, the company says it is the same blend of tobaccos used in the Feral Flying Pig, as selected by Willy Herrera, Drew Estate’s master blender.

It comes in 10-count soft packs that have an MSRP of $139.60 and will be available at four retail locations:

  • Habano Cigar Lounge (Homer Glen, Ill.)
  • Habano Cigar Lounge (Tinley Park, Ill.)
  • Habano Cigar Lounge (Chicago, Ill.)
  • Hyde Park Cigars (Chicago, Ill.)

“Hyde Park Cigars has been a key partner and true friend in Chicago for many years,” said Jonathan Drew, president and co-founder of Drew Estate, ia a press release. “The Liga Privada Pork Beli is a sizzling mega blend, based on our Feral Flying Pig blend vitola bursts with leveled flavor. I am excited for our people to head to Hyde Park Cigars and get down with this limited yearly release.”

A similar cigar, the Liga Privada No. 9 Pork Beli, was previewed at Hyde Park Cigars in August 2016.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
