Drew Estate has released its new smartphone app that promises to connect fans to the brand in several new ways and via an interface completely built from scratch with the goal of ensuring the best user experience possible.

The app will serve a number of functions, from allowing users to keep up with news from the company, earn points that can be used to win art from the company’s Subculture Studios, as well as connect with friends and other Drew Estate fans.

“The Drew Diplomat app experience makes fans of the Rebirth of Cigars feel as though they’re sitting at our majestic Nicaraguan factory, perched above the rolling mountains,” according to Jonathan Drew, founder of Drew Estate, via a press release. “With just a few simple clicks, you say to your friends, ‘I’m sitting back enjoying this Liga Privada Velvet Rat, what are you smoking?’ Drew Diplomat is the bridge between a social network and Cigar Safari trip rolled up into one incredible app. The Drew Diplomat app lets you post about your let-loose moments for all your friends to see and provides an experience that only we can provide. We did it with Cigar Safari and Barn Smoker and we’ve done it again with Drew Diplomat.”

It replaces the existing Drew Estate app, expanding on that program’s functionality to include the ability to check-in and post photos of cigars users have smoked and RSVP for Drew Estate Events, all while earning points within the app. These points can be used to enter promotions for a chance to win weekly one-of-a-kind pieces of art from Subculture Studios, Drew Estate’s graffiti art studio attached to La Gran Fabrica in Estelí, Nicaragua.

Drew Estate President Michael Cellucci added that this release shows how the company has grown and matured while staying able to disrupt the cigar industry through innovation.

The Drew Diplomat app is now available in the App Store for iPhone®, iPad® and iPod Touch® and on Google Play™ for Android™. The new Drew Diplomat app replaces the company’s current app, which will no longer be updated.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
