Orleans Group has released the fourth installment in its Dram series, as the Cask No. 4 has begun shipping to retailers today.
The Dram Cask No. 4 uses a dark rich Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder with fillers from Nicaragua, and is being made by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo at Tabacalera Alianza in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The company says it brings “a fuller, bolder taste” that is “designed to pair perfectly with the peat and smokiness whiskys of Islay, the Islands and Skye,” as well as some of the heavier Highlands scotches and Tennessee Sour Mash bourbons.
