The faces of Dissident Cigars, as well as Wichita, Kan.-based The Humidor Cigars and Lounge, are departing.

Gorden Crippen announced that he and Ryan Johnson are no longer part of either operation. The pair worked at the retail store in Wichita, played host to its annual Cigar Circus and in 2013 started Dissident Cigars.

As for what’s next, Crippen declined to elaborate further, but said “we’ll be back.”

Both were employees of the cigar shop, but it’s unclear whether or not Crippen and Johnson formally owned any part of Dissident. They were intentionally oblique about many of Dissident’s operations. For his part, Crippen described his role as “co-founder.”

Jason Webster and Neil Edwards are the owners of The Humidor Cigars and Lounge and Dissident Cigars.
