Disney Bans Smoking at All Parks
Effective May 1, smoking will no longer be allowed inside Disney parks.
Per a blog post, the change will affect Walt Disney World, Disneyland, its associated water parks, the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and the Downtown Disney District in California. Currently, there are designated smoking areas at each park, those will be removed by May 1, meaning smoking will no longer be allowed within the parks.
Smoking will still be allowed in designated areas outside of the parks, at hotels and at Disney Springs in Florida. Sosa Family Cigars operates a store in Disney Springs, previously the family operated a store at Downtown Disney.
The policy will affect the two most popular amusement parks in the world and half of the top 10 parks in terms of attendance. Disney’s Florida operations claim more than 50 million annual visitors, while Disneyland, the most popular of the company’s California parks, has over 18 million annual visitors.
