Fans of Edición Regional have a new release to add to their list today, as the Diplomáticos El Diputado is set to hit store shelves in Belgium and Luxembourg.

The cigar, which has a name meaning the deputy, comes in the Montesco vitola, which measures 5 1/8 (130mm) x 55, a robusto vitola that debuted with the Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchills in 2010. Since then, it has been used for nearly a dozen Ediciónes Regional releases, and is also the vitola chosen for the new Montecristo Supremos Edición Limitada, which just received its global premiere earlier this month.

Cubacigar Benelux N.V., the distributor of Habanos S.A. products in Belgium, Luxembourg and The Netherlands, has commissioned 10,000 boxes of 10 cigars for the release. It will be priced at €16.20 ($18.19) in Luxembourg and €16.90 ($18.98) in Belgium.

The cigar is set to arrive a La Casa del Habano shops in Belgium today and then onto Habanos Specialist shops beginning next week.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
