The Diesel Disciple, a 7 x 38 lancero that was released in June 2021 as an exclusive release for members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America, is now a full-production, widespread release that all retailers can order.

The cigar features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and a Nicaraguan habano filler grown in Estelí, a combination that Forged Cigar Co. says gives the medium-full blend an unexpected layer of sweetness that plays against the cigar’s bold and peppery notes.

Pricing remains at $8.99 per cigar and it is offered in 10-count boxes. The line is produced by Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua S.A.

“When we launched Disciple in 2021 as a TAA exclusive, the smokes sold out very quickly,” said Justin Andrews, new business development manager of Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s (STG) North American Branded and Rest of World divisions, via a press release. “So we decided to make it a full-time addition to the Diesel lineup. Disciple speaks to how strongly the brick and mortar community has embraced the Diesel brand, and it’s a great example of just how much the cigar community values what we’re doing from a blend and packaging perspective.”

The cigar is distributed by Forged Cigar Co.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
