David Lampert’s tenure as the vp of sales and marketing for E.P. Carrillo will be a short one. Both Lampert and the company confirmed to halfwheel that he will resign effective May 19.

Lampert joined the company last December after working as a regional sales manager for Alec Bradley.

“EPC is headed in the right direction, and I wish Ernesto and Lissette only the best,” said Lampert in a text message to halfwheel.

David Spirt, director of national accounts for E.P. Carrillo, said the split was amicable and wished Lampert the best in his next position. Spirt said that the company will look for a replacement, but in the interim Lisette Perez-Carrillo will spearhead overseeing the brick and mortar sales team with assistance from her father, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr., and the company’s sales representatives.

Lampert is expected to stay in the premium tobacco business.

An earlier version of this story misspelled David Spirt’s last name as Spirit. It has been corrected and we apologize for the error.
