Cuban Stock Cigars has partnered with the administrators of the Reddit group r/cigars to create a limited edition cigar for the online community.

According to an announcement made yesterday in the r/cigars group, the cigar consists of 10-year aged Dominican tobacco rolled in a 5 1/2 x 44 corona vitola. Each cigar is wrapped in cedar and packaged in 10-count bundles, with each bundle selling for $50 exclusively through, which is located in Philadelphia.

Two hundred bundles are being made for a total production of 2,000 cigars, with the first batch of 100 bundles due to arrive today. The remaining 100 bundles are slated to arrive in the coming weeks from the company’s factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

As part of the project, Cuban Stock turned to the r/cigars community for the design of the packaging, holding a contest in March to create the logo that would be used, with the winner receiving two bundles of cigars. The winning design was submitted by the user /u/guererlla.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
