Cuba Rica has lower pricing on its Testarosso line.

Pricing will now be $5.40 for the Topaz (5 x 56) and Pele (6 x 60, $5.90). Previously, the cigars were priced at $9 and $10.

Testarosso was introduced in 2012, as the company’s second and fuller brand. It uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper and features one of the more unique bands on the market. It’s a foot band that covers the bottom of the foot to show an image of an already lit cigar. In 2014, the company trimmed the number of vitolas.

Stephen Adib, owner of Cuba Rica, told halfwheel the blend remains the same, and in fact his costs have increased, but he wanted to expand the distribution of the line. While the blend remains the same, there is a packaging change as the cigar will now be offered in bundles with retailers provided display boxes.

The updated pricing took effect earlier this month.

Testarosso is made at the Tabacos de Costa Rica factory.
