The second preview for the newest line from Crowned Heads is heading to stores.

Today, the company began shipping the Las Mareas Obas (6 1/8 x 46, $9) and Rebeldes (5 1/2 x 52, $9.75). The two new sizes represent half of the planned vitolas for the Las Mareas line, which is expected to launch as a regular production cigar next summer.

Las Mareas, which translates to the tides, is a Nicaraguan puro made by the García family of My Father Cigars S.A. In September, the company shipped seven retailers a single box of each of the four sizes, the others being 4 1/2 x 48 petit robusto and a 6 x 54 toro extra.

Now 500 boxes of the Obas and 500 boxes of Rebeldes will hit the market. The preview strategy is not new to Crowned Heads, the company released the Headley Grange in a single size limited to just 1,000 boxes and then added four other sizes before the line was released as a regular production item.
