Turns out, Crowned Heads offered two new cigars to retailers at TAA 2018.
This week, Crowned Heads will ship the Four Kicks Maduro Lancero LE 2018 to retailers who placed orders at the 2018 Tobacconists’ Association of America Meeting & Convention in late April. The 7 1/2 x 38 uses a Connecticut habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.
“It was difficult keeping this one quiet since its debut at the show; however, we wanted our TAA supporters to enjoy some time with this release before we made it available worldwide,” said Jon Huber, Crowned Heads co-founder, in a press release.
The TAA is a fairly small group of some of the country’s top tobacconists, about 80 retailers as well as 40 or so manufacturers. The association gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers, as well as to have its annual trade show, a unique event that works on a group buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants.
Crowned Heads also offered retailers The Angel’s Anvil 2018, which is a TAA exclusive.
Production is limited to 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars. Crowned Heads will offer the remaining production to retailers at next month’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, which begins July 13 in Las Vegas. Huber said less than 1,000 boxes were remaining and said the cigars will be sold first come, first served based on orders placed at the show.
Pricing is set at $9.95 per cigar.
