Next month, Crowned Heads will begin shipping the Headley Grange Black Lab LE 2018.

As the name implies, it’s a limited edition release. Offered in a 6 x 52 box-pressed toro, the cigar uses the original Headley Grange filler blend—a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers—under a Connecticut habano wrapper. Additionally, the cigar features a closed foot.

Like the original Headley Grange blend that it is based on, the name is a reference to Led Zeppelin. The original cigar’s blend was inspired by the drums of the song “When the Levee Breaks” which was featured on Led Zeppelin IV. The name is a reference to the studio, based in Headley Grange. The Black Lab moniker is a reference to the song “Black Dog,” which itself referred to a black Labrador retriever that was found hanging out around the recording of the song.

Crowned Heads released Headley Grange Black Dog as an exclusive to JR Cigar in 2016. While the blend is the same as Black Lab, that cigar was not box-pressed.

Pricing is set at $10.95 per cigar and production is limited to 1,500 boxes of 12 cigars.
