If you want to smoke a cigar at 3 a.m. in Corpus Christi, you will have to do it somewhere other than a smoking lounge.

The Corpus Christi City Council has voted to restrict smoking lounges from operating between 2-7 a.m. While the change in law will apply to cigar bars, it seems to be brought about by an incident last summer at a hookah lounge. Those found in violation of the rule can be fined between $500-$2,000.

Corpus Christi is located in southeastern Texas along the Gulf of Mexico. It has a population around 440,000.
