Cornelius & Anthony, a Virginia-based cigar company, has let go of its two senior employees. Todd Vance, the company’s director of sales, and Courtney Smith, the director of business development, are no longer with the Virginia-based company effective today.

In addition, the company has removed its non-brokered sales positions.

The changes come nearly two months after S&M Brands, Inc.—which was owned by the same family as Cornelius & Anthony—was sold and shut down by its new owner.

Steven Bailey, Cornelius & Anthony’s owner, told halfwheel that the changes were made so that the company can prosper in the decade ahead and reiterated that he had no intention of shutting the company down.

However, the brand will not be attending the 2019 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show. It was previously listed as a vendor for next month’s trade show.
