Contra Costa County, Calif., a suburban area of San Francisco, has banned the sale of flavored tobacco products as well as tobacco and marijuana vaping products.

The new law outlaws all combustible flavored tobacco products that have a “characterizing flavor” including menthol. It also appears to be written in a manner that will ban the sale of all vaping products, including the delivery devices. It will go into effect on Dec. 12, 2019.

Contra Costa County is part of the East Bay area outside of San Francisco. It has a population of roughly 1.15 million people.
